On the move!

It's been an eventful past few weeks. Not only did Natalie have her first encounter with pinkeye and roseola, she is now mobile! The kid rarely sits still! She is crawling ALL over and has learned to pull up. Mogul the Cat is not too excited about these new developments. :)

Happy 4th of July

Not only did we celebrate Independence Day with a neighborhood parade, but we attended Cousin Nate's wedding. We loved spending the weekend with all of the Balk Family.

Summer Vacation

The Newton Family had a fun trip to the East Coast. We spent a weekend at Bethany Beach (Delaware) with The Robertson Family (Bruce, Kelly and Will). Then we spent some time with Grandpa Bill, Aunt Kim, Uncle Justin and cousins Ashley, Tyler and Connor. Playing in the sand at Bethany Beach with Daddy

Jeff and Bruce enjoy 'Fun in the Sun' on Fathers Day with their kiddos

Loving the Cousins!! (Natalie is busy watching Snowflake the Dog)

2028 Olympics?

Just like her Mommy and Daddy, Natalie loved her first dip in the pool! Perhaps she'll be a future collegiate swimmer or Ironman athlete! Shoot...we're happy she justed liked splashing in the water! She starts swimming lessons in July. Dad is the lucky parent that gets to participate in the Parent-Tot Lessons.....Mom will be the crazy lady on the side of the pool with the video camera. :)

Chunky Monkey

By the looks of her cheeks, you can guess that Natalie's favorite activity is eating! She's had a sample of rice cereal and oatmeal and LOVES it. After her 6 month wellness visit next week, we are going to introduce other solids. So get ready for those cheeks to grow even more!!

Big Girl

I couldn't resist posting this picture. Natalie's new 'trick' is sitting in her pod chair and twirling her toy all by herself. She seems mesmerized by this toy. It occupies at least 2 minutes of her time! :) Other new 'trick' is rolling over from her tummy to her back. She'll be driving a car and applying for college before we know it! :)

Fun with the Newton Family

Natalie loved having her Cousin Ashley, Aunt Kim and Grandpa in town for the Baptism celebration. Ashley and Natalie had a special bond....Natalie easily shared her smiles, giggles and songs with her cousin. (FYI...Ashley is a superstar varsity field hockey player and we are so proud of her!!) This summer we are headed to Maryland so Natalie can meet her other cousins Tyler and Connor.

Baptism Weekend

Natalie was baptized at Pax Christi Catholic Church this weekend. Godparents are Uncle Todd and Aunt Kim....and we are so blessed to have them in Natalie's life. The dress Natalie wore was purchased by Grandma Barb many years ago. Aunt Kim and Cousin Ashley both wore it for their baptisms.

The Little Traveller

The little traveller! Natalie had her first plane trip this past weekend to visit her grandparents in Waco, Texas. She was a fantastic traveller....slept on all the plane rides! She loved smiling and 'talking' to her Grandmom and Granddaddy. Highlights of the trip were listening & watching her Grandmom play lullabies on the piano and wearing matching 'floppy hats' as Granddaddy.

First Studio Portrait

We had fun at Kiddie Kandids having our first portrait session. Dressed in her Easter dress, Natalie was all smiles....or all tongue. Since she doesn't have teeth yet, she shows her tongue when she smiles.

Runnin' on the Green

The Newton Family enjoyed our annual visit to the Runnin' on the Green 7K running race. This year Mom got to run while Dad and Natalie cheered. Last year when we participated, we found out an hour before the race started that we were pregnant....so technically this was Natalie's 2nd Runnin' on the Green race. :)

Not only is this race the kickoff to the running season, it's a fun occasion to hang out with friends. Pictured above is Jim Greene, Uncle Todd, Daddy & Natalie, Scott and Susan Lauby. Happy St. Patty's Day!

Easter Egg Hunt

Natalie participated in her first Easter Egg Hunt this weekened. Well...she attended her first Easter Egg Hunt. We carried a basket with us to the neighborhood hunt, but it was really for photo ops...not for collection, although Mom was eyeing some of the chocolate goodies.
Natalie is relaxing after the tiring Egg Hunt.

Strolling in the Jogger

We had a beautiful Spring-like day so we took advantage of it and had the inaugural stroll in the B.O.B. stroller. Natalie strapped on her shades and seemed to enjoy her new ride.

3 Months Old

This was a big week. Not only did Natalie turn 3 months old, but Mommy started back to work after a fabulous maternity leave AND Natalie started Day Care. It seemed that both Newton Ladies were up for the new adventure.
Natalie's day care is across the street from Daddy's office so he goes over to visit her frequently. Mommy goes over at lunch to feed Natalie. The Newton Parents are probably driving the day care teachers crazy.....but we are easing into this 'day care thing'. Another added bonus is that the Newton Family carpools to work/day care together. I need to buy Jeff a chauffer cap since he's in the front seat driving as Natalie and I are comfortable riding in the backseat. Ahh....the pampered life of the Newton Ladies!
Natalie has been working on her 'tummy time' (see photo above). She is improving...but most of the time, 'tummy time' results in face-plants as her legs are much stronger than her arms.

Splish Splash

Well...it isn't the spa at the Four Seasons Resort, but Natalie seems to enjoy being pampered in her tub in the kitchen sink.

Girls Weekend

Daddy Jeff and Uncle Todd had their annual Guys Weekend (with 4 other buddies) skiing at Whistler. Mommy Cindy wasn't quite ready to have solo responsibility for the cat, dog (Todd's dog) AND a baby....so I called the "sitter extraordinaire", college friend Jen Hasche. We had a great time cooking (Jeff doesn't like onions or tomatoes so every meal we cooked was loaded with both) and playing with Natalie and the animals.
Jen left the 80 degrees weather in Houston and was welcomed in Denver with 4+ inches of snow. I'm not sure who liked playing in the snow more....Jen or Basin the Dog. :)

Hamming for the camera

Mommy (aka Cindy) loves this bunny rabbit onsie but Natalie is growing so tall that she's about to outgrow it.....so we had photo session to help remember the outfit. I like to think she is waving in the first picture.

Storytime with Daddy

Every night Daddy (aka Jeff) will have storytime with Natalie. Most of the time it is a children's book....but he has been caught reading her articles from Golf Digest and US News & World Report. :)

Happy Baby!

Smiles from Little Natalie at 2 1/2 months
